At 29, we (Laurens & I, Ann-Sophie, that is) discovered cycling. I have to admit, we were late bloomers but soon, the bicycle overtook our lives. And we were living in one of the most beautiful regions in Belgium, the Flemish Ardennes. Land of cycling per excellence! Was it destiny?
In everyday life, we quickly came to miss our weekend time on the bike. As well as the connecting coffee-drinking culture surrounding it. Even more so when I traded my bike for a ginormous baby belly, a newborn and after that a spinal disc herniation.
Although the bike was confined to the garage for way too long, I did not lose my love for cycling. On the contrary. I wanted to do more with it. And thus, Maison Poulain was born. That I am the namesake of the original sponsor of the Tour de France KOM jersey, Chocolat Poulain, just made it meant to be.
Maison Poulain stands for high quality, Belgian made and timeless design; clothes that are made to make you (everybody!) feel good on the bike. But most of all, Maison Poulain strives to be as sustainable and durable as possible. Because, what is cycling without the beautiful surroundings we ride in.
